On Wednesday, NBC’s Brian Williams said he actually wasn’t on board a helicopter that took fire and went down in Iraq in 2003. «The admission came after crew members on the 159th Aviation Regiment’s Chinook that was hit by two rockets and small arms fire told Stars and Stripes that the NBC anchor was nowhere near that aircraft or two other Chinooks flying in the formation that took fire.» (Stars and Stripes) | Stars and Stripes reporter Travis Tritten saw vets on Facebook complaining about the story, which Williams repeated on Friday. «A lot of these crew members have been pissed off about this since 2003.
