The American Magazine Media’s 360 Conference at the Marriott Marquis featured heavy hitters of the media industry — Condé Nast president Bob Sauerberg, Time Inc. CEO Joe Ripp and more — discussing the future. As WWD noted, there were many interesting moments. None, however, were as entertaining as when Ripp took a shot at BuzzFeed.
Michael Wolff — who led the panel — asked if anyone was scared that print wasn’t as important to consumers as it used to be, Ripp countered that magazine brands will always matter because people trust them. After someone noted that BuzzFeed produces 150 million unique visitors a month, Ripp let it fly.
“Do you want Buzzfeed or trusted content?” asked Ripp.
Oh snap. You have to hand it to Ripp, that was pretty damn good.
