The New York Times has finally figured out that some men enjoy spending too much money on clothes, just like some women do. In an attempt to address that male audience, the Times is launching a new Men’s Style print section.
Capital New York reports that Men’s Style will run on the first Friday of each month, starting this Spring. It will be overseen by Styles editor Stuart Emmrich.
Men’s Style is a fairly smart — and safe — move by the Times. A section featuring fancy clothes will bring fancy companies that want to advertise their fancy stuff. It will also please men who enjoy reading about $300 socks. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. We certainly appreciate a good sock.
